Blades, Del., added to federal Superfund list to clean up groundwater pollution

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency will designate the town of Blades, Del., a Superfund site for the purpose of cleaning up industrial chemicals contaminating the town’s groundwater.

The listing is primarily related to cleaning up metals associated with electroplating compounds, the EPA announced Wednesday in a news release. Chemicals known as PFAS have also been found in the groundwater, as well as public and residential wells.  Read more.
