Beaver County school district sues Norfolk Southern over chemical plumes

A Beaver County school district has sued Norfolk Southern over the train derailment last month in nearby East Palestine, Ohio.

The 27-page lawsuit, filed Thursday by the Blackhawk School District in federal court in Pittsburgh, alleges the district’s students are affected and will be affected by discharges of hazardous material from the initial derailment and the subsequent burning off of material in the derailed tank cars.
