Birmingham evacuation order lifted after fuel leak from registered underground tank

The evacuation order following a fuel leak in Birmingham’s Southside has been lifted.

City officials and the Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service on Wednesday said experts determined overnight Tuesday that hazardous materials mitigation efforts in the fuel leak have reduced levels to a safe and normal reading. Read more.
