Contaminated soil at rail projects could add $2.4M to price tag

Barrie’s two major transit developments face higher costs due to an unanticipated, additional amount of contaminated soil, extended archaeological monitoring and investigations, and the complex requirements of working adjacent to a Metrolinx rail corridor.

Affected are the Allandale and Downtown Transit Mobility Hubs, and Allandale Historic Train Station development projects, with the additional bill of nearly $2.4 million. Read more.
