Contamination cleanup delays Newark apartment project, completion pushed back

A major housing project in Newark is facing delays after environmental contamination was discovered on parts of the site, forcing a temporary halt to some construction earlier this year.

Work at Coventry Commons, a $60 million redevelopment on Harrison Street, was impacted after testing revealed the presence of volatile organic compounds in soil, groundwater, and vapor.
