Contamination to delay completion of major housing project in Newark

A Downtown Revitalization Initiative-funded project has been delayed because contamination has been found at the site.
Work started last year on Coventry Commons, which calls for converting a former industrial space at 132 Harrison St., where Reed Manufacturing and later Sarah Coventry once operated, into 101 residential units.
The $60 million project, being built by Cicero-based Construction Design and Management in partnership with Syracuse-based Housing Visions, was projected to be finished by late summer. However, that was before the contamination was discovered. Read more.
