Creola residents file lawsuit over injuries caused by chemical spill

On May 13th, images of an orange cloud in Creola emerged as the community was told to shelter in place due to a nitric acid spill. Dozens of people say they are still dealing with injuries caused by that chemical. An attorney, who says he represents 80 people, has filed a class action lawsuit against multiple companies. Attorney Chris Callaghan says the spill never should’ve happened.

“There were companies who knew that the tankers they had did not have proper valves to be able to hold nitric acid. Those valves, which they had known in the past failing, had failed,” said Callaghan. Read more.
