DEQ gets $100k back from gas station operator with 21 leaking tank sites

A Novi-based gas station operator must reimburse the state $100,000 and submit detailed cleanup plans for 21 sites where leaking fuel storage tanks are or threatening to pollute soil and groundwater.
The judicial consent order announced this week by the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality gives Knight Enterprises Inc. until late January 2017 to submit cleanup plan for each of the Michigan sites.  Read more.
