EPA testing for toxic vapors in homes near Ann Arbor dry cleaner

One of Ann Arbor’s most heavily polluted areas is getting renewed attention from federal regulators.
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is testing the indoor air at six homes in the vicinity of Armen Cleaners, a dry-cleaning business at 630 S. Ashley St., to determine whether releases of tetrachloroethylene — a known carcinogen — from the nearby dry cleaner pose a health risk to residents. Read more.
