Greenidge commits to environmental cleanup in agreement with EPA

Greenidge Generation Holdings Inc., a cryptocurrency datacenter and power generation company, has reached an agreement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to remove an old coal ash pond at its Dresden facility.

This pond, over 60 years old, was a leftover from the site’s previous coal-fired operations. Since acquiring the facility, Greenidge ended coal-fired operations, converting it to natural gas and investing heavily in its power generation and datacenter. Read more.
