Heated debate continues over who’s to blame for contaminants in Murfreesboro

 There’s a heated debate over who’s to blame for a high level of contaminants in Murfreesboro.

The city is blaming Middle Point Landfill for having a higher level of contaminants than their earlier findings, which comes after the city filed a federal lawsuit against the landfill last August.

Murfreesboro added new findings to their lawsuit on Oct. 28 after discovering higher levels of PFAS at Bubba’s Spring on Middle Point than those found earlier near Matthews Lake. The city says the new findings on these manufactured chemicals are deeply concerning because of their adverse health impacts. Read more.
