Keyport residents demand answers at meeting on possible cancer cluster

Residents are demanding answers and action from state officials after decades of little progress in closing and sealing an old landfill that a citizens group worries may be connected to cancers in their community.

At the Sunday, May 17, meeting at Keyport High School, top personnel of the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection and Department of Health assured borough residents that investigating a possible cancer cluster near the former Keyport Sanitary Landfill and the Aeromarine Industrial Park were top priorities of both agencies.
