Lawsuits filed over alleged ‘forever chemicals’ in Georgetown County drinking water

The City of Georgetown and the Georgetown County Water & Sewer District are filing lawsuits over alleged PFAS, also known as forever chemicals, in the county’s drinking water.

Both lawsuits, filed on Monday, name multiple defendants, most notably Fiber Industries, which owns and operates a textile mill in Darlington County. Read more.
