Lennar Homes in Austin and Celina Crack Open, Owners Say Fixes Fall Short

Two Texas homeowners say the cracks splitting open their Lennar-built houses keep getting worse, even after the nation’s second-largest homebuilder sent engineers to inspect the damage. One family in East Austin and another in Celina have spent recent weeks documenting the spreading fractures on social media, and neither says the company has delivered a real fix.
According to MySA, East Austin homeowner @honeybeeabs bought her home in 2019 and began posting videos in September showing cracks along her tile floor, walls and ceiling that had appeared only a few months earlier. She said her builder told her that a crack running from one side of the house to the other was completely normal, per the same report. By October, she said the cracks in her tile floor had grown significantly wider after she had been away from the house for just a few days, and she reported bigger cracks forming in her walls and ceiling as well.
