Middlesex Water could face lawsuit from six towns over high contamination

A week after Middlesex Water Company expanded notices of water contamination exceeding government standards to six towns, the mayors of those towns said they have retained legal counsel to investigate the water company’s actions.
The mayors of Carteret, Clark, Edison, Metuchen, South Plainfield and Woodbridge announced Tuesday they have collectively retained the law firms of Vlasac & Shmaruk, of the Iselin section of Woodbridge, and Berger Montague, of Philadelphia, to investigate the actions implemented by Middlesex Water and 3M to comply with state and federal safe drinking water standards.
