Mold contamination costs hit $1.4 million at South Hadley High School

The cost of remediating a massive mold infestation at South Hadley High School earlier this year has ballooned to $1.4 million, according to figures provided in Select Board documents for its meeting Tuesday.
The costs include $784,574 for mold mitigation work done by the firm ServiceMaster Recovery Management, $44,500 for mold testing done by two other firms, $12,000 estimated to deal with the high school’s weight room, and $500,000 estimated for air conditioner splits and dehumidifiers. Read more.
