Eric McKinley, 43, of Mt. Victory, was transported by a Bokescreek squad to an area hospital with possible rib and wrist injuries after his westbound dump truck overturned about 7:45 a.m. Saturday on County Road 48 near Township Road 138.
He had stopped in the road for other traffic, but his vehicle went off the side into soft ground, witnesses reported. The truck began to sink and then tipped over, spilling its load of chicken manure.
Another truck driver rushed out of his vehicle to aid Mr. McKinley without applying his emergency brake and his truck rolled into a tree.Farm tractors pulled it back on the road.
The spilled load was picked up and placed into another truck.
Mr. McKinley received a stopping and backing citation.
Troopers of the Marysville Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol are investigating the crash.
