NJ town settles with maker of firefighting foam in water contamination case

The borough has settled part of a class-action lawsuit with a leading manufacturer of firefighting foam, and the recouped money will go toward the cost of removing chemicals from the public water supply.
Officials said they will receive about $180,000 through the deal with Tyco Fire Products L.P., a Wisconsin-based company that also makes antifreeze and fire sprinklers. Read more.
