In recent years, businesses across industries have faced an emerging risk of PFAS-related liability claims.
Introduced in the 1940s, there are thousands of known perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances and hundreds of reported use cases. While researchers are still learning more about PFAS and their potential impacts, the litigation and regulatory landscape continues to evolve. Among other things, plaintiffs have brought and continue to bring lawsuits against companies, alleging that exposure to PFAS from an array of manufacturing processes and products damages water sources or increases the risk of various health conditions.
