PG&E fights lawsuit over century-old gas plant pollution

In a lawsuit over century-old pollution from a defunct gas plant, two lawyers urged a federal judge Wednesday to adopt their interpretations of what historic business records say about Pacific Gas and Electric’s liability for potential groundwater contamination.

“What we have here is irrefutable evidence that San Francisco Gas and Electric operated the manufactured gas plant and generated waste,” attorney Stuart Gross argued in a video-conference hearing Wednesday. Read more.
