State officials respond after chemical spill reported at Silfab Solar plant in Fort Mill

At the site of a controversial solar cell manufacturing plant, York County officials said 300 gallons of water diluted with a potent compound spilled on March 3.

Officials at Silfab Solar and the county said the accidental release happened about 9:45 a.m. at the plant, located at 7149 Logistics Lane in unincorporated Fort Mill. The spill posed no danger to the public, they said. Read more.
