Thousands of gallons of nitric acid leak from North County facility into Coldwater Creek

Several roads in north St. Louis County are closed due to a hazmat situation at the former GKN Aerospace building.

The lanes of eastbound McDonnell between Lindbergh and Byassee were closed as of 10 a.m. Friday, according to the Hazelwood Police Department. There is currently no timeframe for the roads to reopen.

The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District confirmed a chemical spill at the facility now owned by Boeing on the 100 block of McDonnell Boulevard, near Lambert International Airport. Read more.
