Truck Carrying Toxic Soil From East Palestine Overturns

A truck carrying 40,000 pounds of soil contaminated with toxic chemicals from the train derailment near East Palestine, Ohio crashed on Monday evening while en route to a disposal site.

In a statement, the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) said that roughly half of the tractor-trailer’s load had spilled onto the road and into a nearby ditch on State Route 165, which runs from Unity, near East Palestine, toward Beloit.
