Trucking company takes responsibility for Nampa diesel spill

On Saturday morning, the strong smell of fuel led Jeremy Schmerber to walk along Mason Creek, which runs near his RV in Nampa. He quickly realized something was wrong.

“If you catch it at the right angle with the sun out, you can still see [the fuel], he said. “We normally have probably 30 ducks in here. I haven’t seen them since yesterday afternoon.”

In a news release, Yount Enterprises, Inc. stated an unauthorized employee did not properly shut down a diesel pump after putting fuel in their personal vehicle. Pressure in the system caused the hose to fail and start leaking. Read more.
