Water plant engineering firm seeks to shift liability in city’s lawsuit to subcontractor

One company is being dropped from the city of Logan’s lawsuit over the allegedly faulty design and construction of its water treatment plant, while another firm is being drawn into the litigation.

Logan City Council recently approved a settlement in the federal lawsuit in which the city agreed, in exchange for a payment of $100,000, to drop its claims against Fluidra USA, LLC, the company that manufactured the filters used in the water plant. Soon afterwards, on April 17 the city and Fluidra filed a joint motion in U.S. District Court asking that the company be dismissed as a defendant. Read more.
